My name is Kirsten, and I’m your photographic witness!

I have been shooting and studying photography for over 10 years.

I’ve been shooting since 2009, but I decided that to better understand the photography world, I would need to study photography in as many ways possible. So I have a degree in photography, with a focus on darkroom techniques. I have assisted and shot for photographers in Nashville, Washington, DC, and North Carolina. And I have been growing my business since 2017, just shortly after graduating from college.

Every month I try to find something new to learn- how to be a better businesswoman, how to use a new piece of equipment, how to use a new editing feature, how to better pose a variety of clients… The list goes on! I once had a principle say every day “learn something new everyday!” and I try to live up to that. Even if it’s something small.

I truly believe that I should always be working on my A-game to guarantee the best experience for my clients!

General FAQs

What do you shoot?

Basically anything & everything! I love the variety and challenges that come with not sticking to one “genre” of photography. If you have an idea, bring it to me! I want to see what I can do to make it happen.

What if I need my photos sooner?

I charge a $250 express fee and you will receive a full gallery within 5 business days, unless otherwise stated.

What is this film you keep talking about?

You know how “back in the day” you used to take a disposable camera to the photo center in Wal-Mart or Walgreens, and they would develop the film, print every shot, and then give that all back to you? Yeah, that’s what I like to shoot, except I shoot with all sorts of film cameras- 35 mm, 120 mm, instant film. Here’s an article about it!

Will you ever offer video?

Heck yeah! I’m slowly learning different things about video- how to shoot it, how to edit it, what gear I need, the terms to use… There’s A LOT to learn, but slowly and surely I will get there! If you’re interested in helping me build the video part of my portfolio up, then let me know! The more I shoot, the more I learn!

Will you help me with my outfits?

Heck yeah! Sometimes it’s hard to decide on what to wear- even if it’s just hanging out in the house. I am always happy to help you coordinate your wardrobe so it doesn’t clash or look weird in your photos. I want you to look and feel confident!

What is your turnaround time?

Dang! You’re on it! For anything that is not a wedding, event, or long session, you will receive your full online gallery within 30 business days of your session. If you hire me for more than 4 hours for anything, then expect it to be within 90 business days.

How many photos are in a gallery?

That all depends on what you hire me to shoot! If it’s for a portrait session then it could be anywhere from 50-200 photos, depending on how much we shoot and what is shot. If it’s a wedding or event, then it will be around 40-60 images per hour.

But to be honest, I over shoot, and always deliver waaaaay more than I probably should!

How would you describe your editing style?

It’s mostly true-to-life and slightly moody. I love details, vibrant colors, and accurate lighting. So if a setting is super dark, then the photos will be on the darker side. If your session takes place during golden hour then they will turn out on the warmer side.

Please don’t ask me to desaturate your photos. Color means life! Let’s keep the life in the photos!

Do you travel?

Do I travel? Uhhh, duh! I love to explore new places and revisit old places. I do charge a travel fee to most locations, but the states that have zero travel fees are: NC, AR, & the DFW area.
